FRANKFURTER SCHULTHEATERTAGE 2009
Once upon a time... - or so we think when we hear about Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The tale features one of the most fabulous "baddies" of all times in the form of the Wicked Queen, vainly peering into the mirror and asking: "Who is the fairest of us all?"
Her motivations of vanity and envy are so very human (although her actions don't deserve this adjective) and that is what gives the story its power.
Besides, it seems to be highly topical in some way, because - as we all know - wherever some beautiful females happen to come together, they inevitably compare their looks. And when - on top of that - the supposedly objective Mirror (naturally a female herself!) seems to be biased and the Prince turns out not to be the really smart guy one had hoped for, the outcome is not guaranteed anymore...
Especially, since there are certain unexpected appearances of persons who don't seem to belong to the play altogether... But this is the magical world, remember? So,
anything is possible ever after!
